Work by Gerald Mead, lecturer, Design, was presented at a symposium February 12–15 at the University of California, Berkeley, titled "The Fate of the Art: The Hand-Printed Book in the 21st Century" as part of a limited-edition portfolio published by the Western New York Book Arts Collaborative.
Mead also had artwork included in the following group exhibitions: Rebooted: Life after E-Junk, at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, December 3–February 11; Visual AIDS: Postcards from the Edge, at the Sikkema Jenkins & Co. gallery in New York City December 1–3; and Addressing Iraq at the University of Florida’s Reitz Gallery, in Gainesville, Florida, April 16–27.
Mead was recently appointed to the Visual Arts Academy Advisory Board for the West Seneca Central School District. He also guest curated the exhibitionExtraordinary Forms: Binational Clay at the Kenan Center in Lockport February 11–March 11.
