Seeking Faculty Experts for Media Requests

College Relations regularly gets requests from the media for experts who can provide background, context, or insight on events or topics in the news. Recent inquiries have been related to gun control, the fiscal cliff, climate change, and the effect of traumatic experiences on a child’s development.

If you are interested in sharing your expertise with journalists, please send your information to Mary A. Durlak, public relations senior writer. College Relations maintains the list of experts.

Please include your name, terminal degree, title, department, e-mail address, and campus phone number. Also, please provide a phone number at which you can be reached when not on campus. When members of the media contacts us, they usually need to reach an expert quickly.

Express your expertise in broad terms and simple language so that we don’t miss an opportunity to contact you.

Samples of faculty expertise:

“Tourism destination management; tourism planning; tourism marketing; cultural tourism; heritage tourism; sustainable tourism."

“Psychopathology; psychological disorders; psychotherapy; personality assessment; treatment efficacy research; dream research; psychoanalytic theory; adult psychopathology; clinical service delivery; psychodynamic theory and application.”

If you have any questions, please contact Durlak, ext. 3517. Sharing your expertise allows Buffalo State to demonstrate the breadth and depth of its program offerings. Thank you.
