Western New York Sculpture from the Gerald Mead Collection: On View in E. H. Butler Library Lobby through October 31

Through the combined histories of the arts programs at SUNY Buffalo State, the University at Buffalo, Alfred University, the Rochester Institute of Technology, and numerous exhibition venues, sculptors associated with this region have had an enduring presence. This exhibition, selected from the collection of Gerald Mead, a Buffalo State alumnus and lecturer in the Design Department, consists of 40 small sculptures and assemblages in all media. Stylistically, the works range from the formal geometry of Duayne Hatchett’s steel maquette to the whimsy of Wes Olmsted and Alfonso Volo’s found object constructions.

Other artists included in the exhibition are Jozef Bajus, Mary Begley, Michael Beitz, Sylvie Belanger, Roberley Bell, Diane Bertolo, Scott Bye, Griffis Studios, Carrianne Hendrickson, Tony Hepburn, Robert Hirsch, Patrick Holderfield, Bryan Hopkins, Tom Hughes, Darien Johnson, Nancy Jurs, Kevin Kegler, Sunhwa Kim, Larry Kinney, Bethany Krull, Alison Kurek, Dennis Mahar, John Opera, Albert Paley, Mahine Rattonsey, Patrick Robideau, Christy Rupp, Craig Smith, Neil Tetkowski, Alan Van Every, Joseph Verrastro, Kurt Von Voetsch, Jesse Walp, Heather Wetzel, and Robert Wood.

The exhibition is on view in E. H. Butler Library lobby through October 31.
