Call for Student Assistants: Summer Bridge Opportunity

The Continuing Professional Studies Office (CPS) is looking for student assistants who are interested in paid positions ($16 an hour) working with high school students participating in a six-week summer bridge program on the Buffalo State campus.

The summer bridge program, a partnership between CPS and the Charter School for Applied Technologies (CSAT), will run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:35 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays from July 11 to August 18. CPS is seeking student assistants who are interested in working closely with CSAT students to help ensure their academic and personal success during their college experience.

CSAT students will take a UNC course and have built-in study time as well as time for weekly workshops. CPS will support students both academically and non-academically by providing them with tutoring, mentoring, advisement, and help with strengthening their non-cognitive skills. Student assistants will help the high school students navigate their day on campus, attend class with them, and help facilitate and manage lab time and workshops. Schedules would be about 15 hours a week.

Interested applicants should email a résumé and cover letter to Tristin J. Salter, academic coordinator in Continuing Professional Studies.
