Electrical Shutdowns

Campus Services will be performing brief electrical shutdowns from Monday, September 21, through Friday, October 2, to perform critical upgrades. Faculty and staff should shut down all networked computers and miscellaneous equipment prior to any scheduled interruption. University Police will keep buildings locked until power has been restored.Each of the upcoming shutdowns is scheduled to last no longer than an hour, and to occur between 4:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. The following is a list of the buildings that will be affected by these shutdowns during the week of September 21 and September 28:

Shutdowns during the week of September 21:
Monday, September 21, between 4:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.
Buckham Campus School, Moot Hall, Ketchum Hall, Rockwell Hall, Donald Savage Theater Arts Building, Bacon Hall, Bishop Hall, Porter Hall, Neumann Hall, Campus House, Burchfield Penney Art Center, Sports Arena, and Houston Gym.

Wednesday, September 23, between 4:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.
Buckham Campus School, Moot Hall, Ketchum Hall, Rockwell Hall, Donald Savage Theater Arts Building, Bacon Hall, Bishop Hall, Porter Hall, Neumann Hall, Campus House, Burchfield Penney Art Center, Sports Arena, Houston Gym, Caudell Hall, Caudell Annex, Bulger Communication Center, Upton Hall, Chase Hall, and Cassety Hall.

Friday, September 25, between 4:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.,
Caudell Hall, Bulger Communication Center, Upton Hall, Chase Hall, and Cassety Hall.

Shutdowns during the week of September 28:
Monday, September 28, between 4:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.
The short-term shutdown will affect the Classroom Building, Weigel Health Center, Twin Rise, North Wing, South Wing, Clinton Center, Central Receiving, Bakery Building, and the Power Plant.

Wednesday, September 30, between 4:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.
Classroom Building, Weigel Health Center, Twin Rise, North Wing, South Wing, Clinton Center, Central Receiving, Laundry Bldg., Power Plant, Butler library, Campbell Student Union, Cleveland Hall, Moore Complex, Towers I, II, III and IV, Science Building 1 and 2, and Perry Hall.

During the shutdowns, devices/appliances other than networked computers can remain in their normal operating state. It is possible that after each interruption, some networked computers, especially those that were not powered down, may experience network connectivity issues when powered back up. Such issues should be reported to the Computing Help Desk at ext. 4357.
