Bridget Chesterton, Assistant Professor, History and Social Studies Education

Bridget Chesterton, assistant professor of history and social studies education, and Carlos Gomez Florentín, a doctoral candidate in the Department of History at Stony Brook University, will have a chapter titled "El Centenario como momento historico" (The Centennial as a Historical Moment) published in the forthcoming El Bicentenatrio: Desafío y Legado (The Bicentennial: Challenge and Legacy). The article reflects on how the centennial celebration in Paraguay was celebrated in the Paraguayan countryside. This celebration by the Paraguayan populous was forgotten by elites in Paraguay. The article returns the celebration to its proper place in Paraguayan history.
