Maria Garrity, Systems Programmer, Computing and Technology Services

Maria Garrity, systems programmer with Computing and Technology Services, was team captain for Team Campus Trendsetters, which won first place for the fastest faculty-staff team in the 15th annual Bengal 5K Scholarship Run on Saturday, March 31. For the ninth year in a row, team member Andrew T. Garrity, programmer/analyst with Computing and Technology Services, won first place in the faculty-staff category. Other team members were Judi Basinski, Ralph Chille, Kim Chmielewicz, Don Erwin, Rock Doyle, Leonard Goerss, Churchill Gwan, John Hejna, Denise Kennedy, Val Lehman, Gloria Lupkin, Ivar Lupkin, Ted Marsowicz, Neil Palmer, Bryan Penberthy, Lynne Penberthy, Sheila Pragel, Roxanne Sarver, Scott Simon, JoAnna Stergion, Rebecca Tutko, Michael Woodruff, and Ottilie Woodruff.

The Bengal 5K benefits the Alumni Association’s Legacy Scholarship Fund and the Armed Services Scholarship Fund. Legacy scholarships are awarded annually to deserving students who are the children or grandchildren of Buffalo State graduates. Armed Services scholarships provide funding for student-veterans at Buffalo State.
