Program Revision:
B.A. Psychology, BA-NS PSY
New Course:
PSY 435 Human Memory. Prerequisites: One PSY 300-level biology or cognitive core course. Components and functioning of the human memory system and its neural basis in the brain. Theory- and model-based examination of memory formation, storage, organization, and retrieval success and failure. Exploration of memory errors, the role of emotion, amnesias, dementias, and mnemonics. Includes laboratory exercises and final projects. Offered at least once a year, beginning fall 2020.
Course Revisions:
NFS 446 Nutrition Care B. Prerequisite: NFS 445. Corequisite: NFS 402 and dietitian education major. Second in a series of supervised experiential learning clinical courses organized into three rotations in different health-care and community settings. Students implement the nutrition care process with beginning skills. Clinical dress code required. Offered spring semester, beginning spring 2021.
NFS 450 Senior Practicum in Dietetics. Prerequisites: NFS 447 and clinical instructor permission. Corequisites: NFS 448 and NFS 449. Supervised planning, implementation, and evaluation of professional practice goals in a selected area of dietetic practice such as acute care, long-term care, nutrition education, or community-service programs. Ability to function under minimal supervision required. Offered spring semester, beginning spring 2021.
