The Volunteer Fair and September 11 National Day of Service will be an opportunity for Buffalo State students, faculty, and staff to remember and recognize a tragic yet important day in our nation's history.
As a part of the Anne Frank Project, the Volunteer and Service-Learning Center will facilitate the campus's participation in this national day of service to recognize the importance of active citizenship not only during times of crisis but every day. The event will provide opportunities for students to pause during a busy day and spend a few minutes or a few hours helping with specific community's identified needs through on-campus service projects.
Thirty-five nonprofit organizations will be on campus from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to speak with students about volunteer opportunities that connect with personal interests and to provide service projects that can be accomplished in a small amount of time while making a large impact. These projects will allow students to realize that service does not have to take a significant time commitment. Everyone can help transform the community.
Questions can be directed to the Volunteer and Service-Learning Center, ext. 5811, vslc@buffalostate.edu, or stop by Cleveland Hall 306.
