Inconvenient Truths Film Series: Holler Back (Not) Voting in an American Town

The Inconvenient Truths Film Series concludes with Holler Back: (not) Voting in an American Town on Tuesday, October 28, at 7:00 p.m. in Bulger Communication Center West. Buffalo State will be part of a nationwide event to motivate the youth vote. Awarded "Best Documentary" at the Sunscreen Film Festival, and showing at festivals across the country to sold-out houses, this 75-minute documentary explores why more people, especially young people, don't vote. Revealing interviews with non-voters draw you in as they express their anger and lack of faith in a corrupt and unresponsive system. Fast-paced and cut to a dynamic soundtrack that includes The Teddybears, The Magnetic Fields, Cody Chesnutt, Susan Enan and Stroke 9; `Holler Back takes place during the contentious 2004 presidential election in Allentown,  Pennsylvania. With impressive detail and considerable humor, the tight and highly charged film focuses on the entrenched problems of our elections: from the twisted complexities of the electoral college to easily hackable voting equipment.
