Deborah Silverman, associate professor and chair of the Communication Department, chaired a panel discussion, "'We've Got This': Assessment of Public Relations Programs" for the Public Relations Society of America Educators Academy virtual annual conference on October 22. Topics included panelists' experiences with assessment at their schools, common errors in assessment, differences between student learning outcomes and program learning outcomes, and resources for assessment. Panelists included Bey-Ling Sha, dean of Cal State Fullerton's School of Communications; Patricia Curtin, professor of communication and assessment director at the University of Oregon; and Denise Bortree, professor and associate dean at Penn State University's Bellisario College of Communications.
