Thomas J. Reigstad, professor emeritus of English, will present a Year of the City lecture and book signing on Mark Twain's time in Buffalo on Thursday, April 25, at 12:15 p.m. in Bulger Communication Center West. Twain lived and worked in Buffalo from 1869 to 1871 as an editor and part owner of the Buffalo Express. Reigstad's new book, Scribblin' for a Livin': Mark Twain's Pivotal Period in Buffalo, chronicles the famed author's 18 months in the Queen City as a decisive time of accomplishments and alliances, debunking previous accounts of his time here as nondescript or even bleak.
Reigstad's talk is free and open to the public. For more information, call ext. 6674.
