Ways to Help during the Coronavirus Outbreak: Volunteer with the United Nations

The Civic and Community Engagement Office is providing information about ways faculty, staff, and students can be active citizens and support our community during the coronavirus outbreak.

The United Nations is seeking virtual volunteers to help with its global causes. Volunteers are needed to assist the UN in creating visual or text communication material summarizing key points of the UN’s emerging understanding of COVID-19. These materials can include PowerPoint presentations, interactive websites and blogs, and infographics, depending on the skill sets of the volunteers. The materials will be shared with country offices in the United Nations Development Program and other entities requesting support. The UN will focus on providing information to governments on the health impact of the virus. For example, the UN wants to summarize the latest data on SARS-CoV-2's interactions with preexisting illness and risk factors, such as cardiovascular diseases and smoking, and how to mount effective responses and build health system resilience. Please visit the UN volunteers website to get started.
