Professional Development Workshop: 'Facilitating and Structuring Productive Committees, Meetings, and Work Groups' - March 20

Please join us for the professional development workshop "Facilitating and Structuring Productive Committees, Meetings, and Work Groups," presented by Jonathan Hulbert, director of leadership and organizational development, and Todd Benzin, educational technology specialist, on Wednesday, March 20, from 9:00 a.m. to noon in Chase Hall 109.

Committees, meetings, and work groups can sometimes feel unproductive, inefficient, boring, or unorganized; however, those responsible for chairing, facilitating, or leading these groups can use effective facilitation skills, an actionable agenda, role clarity, structured content, and campus technology to make the work fun, productive, and meaningful. As a result of this session, faculty, staff, and administrators will be able to

  • create an agenda that leads to productive meetings and minimal disruptions;
  • implement group facilitation approaches to defuse conflict, generate innovative ideas, and make decisions supported by group consensus;
  • identify how to structure meetings, committees, and work groups to motivate action from colleagues and minimize social loafing;
  • understand what campus technology tools are available to streamline committee, meeting, and work group productivity.

Light snacks will be provided. Please register through the Workshop Registration System.
