Tell Students: Alternative Summer Break - Bear Mountain Trails Project

The Volunteer and Service-Learning Center will host an Alternative Break this summer to Bear Mountain, New York, for students to be part of a volunteer-driven trail restoration and relocation project, the Bear Mountain Trails Project. Participating students will have the opportunity to gain trail-building skills, learn about the social and ecological impact of hiking trails, and be part of a large-scale volunteer project on the Appalachian Trail. Students will depart Sunday, May 26, from campus and return on Saturday, June 1.

An information session will be held on Thursday, April 4, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in Bacon Hall 115. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, April 9. Applications can be found under the "Announcements" column on the VSLC website.

Students are encouraged to contact the VSLC with questions: vslc@buffalostate.edu, ext. 5811, or Cleveland Hall 306.
