Professional Development: Using the Buffalo State Writing Handbook to Support Student Writing

Learn to use Buffalo State’s writing handbook to deepen student learning and develop student writing across the curriculum during this workshop on Friday, January 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Bulger Communication Center South. A Writer's Reference, the newly adopted common writing handbook, is now a required text for all College Writing Program courses (CWP 099, CWP 101, and CWP 102). Faculty across the campus are encouraged to assign the text as either a required or recommended text for their courses, particularly for courses requiring a significant amount of writing. This workshop will provide information about the content of the handbook as well as offer suggestions for using it within courses to support content learning and writing across the curriculum. This workshop will be led by Michelle Clark, executive editor with Bedford/St. Martin's.
