Faculty and staff are invited to a demonstration of the online education program AlcoholEdu, Friday, April 1, at 1:00 p.m. in E. H. Butler Library 210. Buffalo State is evaluating AlcoholEdu and Kirby Salerno, a representative from Outside The Classroom, will be on hand to demonstrate his company’s product.
Online alcohol intervention programs, when combined with an overall environmental management strategy, are a proven method for reducing alcohol abuse among new and high-risk continuing college students. AlcoholEdu for College, Outside The Classroom’s flagship program, is used on hundreds of campuses and by 36 percent of all first-year students at America's four-year higher education institutions, producing the world's largest database on college students and alcohol. It remains the only program specifically designed for all students—whether they are frequent heavy drinkers, light to moderate drinkers, or non-drinkers.
For over a decade, Outside The Classroom has been steadfast in its endeavor to strengthen the field of alcohol prevention. For further information, contact Ron George at ext. 4436 or Charles Kenyon at ext. 4618.
