Burchfield City Sites and Brunch Tour: April 14

The Burchfield Penney Art Center will host a lecture and bus tour of Burchfield’s city sites on Sunday, April 14, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Visit the places Charles E. Burchfield lived and see firsthand the sites he painted in Buffalo. Nancy Weekly, head of collections, Charles Cary Rumsey curator, and Burchfield scholar, will present a lecture during a coffee hour at the museum. Then we will tour the city on a coach bus as Weekly identifies buildings and locations, such as the site of the former M. H. Birge & Sons Company and the Niagara Mohawk Building. Brunch will be served at Butterwood Sweet and Savory at the Lafayette Hotel in downtown Buffalo. This tour is a wonderful way to see Buffalo from a new perspective in celebration of Buffalo State's Year of the City.

To reserve your space, please send a check made payable to the Burchfield Penney Art Center to Mary Kozub, Burchfield Penney Art Center, 1300 Elmwood Ave., Buffalo, NY 14222. Space is limited. With questions, please contact Kozub, ext. 3156.

Consider becoming a Burchfield Penney member to receive a discount on this trip. Burchfield Penney members pay just $65, while the fee for nonmembers is $75.

This event is part of a four-day festival from April 11–14 called Cycles.
