Faculty and Staff Appeal 2011

Yvonne V. Nagel, senior adviser in the Financial Aid Office, said, “I love Buffalo State.” But it’s her position in financial aid, coupled with her belief that every gift matters, that inspires her to contribute to the Faculty and Staff Appeal.

“It’s a small way to give back and make a difference,” she said. “Because there are so many funds to give to, you can select something that touches your heart or is meaningful to you.” She gives to the Grants for Students in Need Fund in the Disability Services Office.

As a senior financial aid adviser, Ms. Nagel sees students who face a shortfall even though they qualify for the maximum financial assistance. “Our goal is to get students enough financial aid so they can focus on their studies and not have to worry about paying their bills,” she said. “Sometimes getting a few extra dollars can help them persist to graduation.”

Nagel gives through payroll deduction. “It’s so easy,” she said, “and because I never see the money, I don’t miss it. Also, even though I don’t give a lot, I truly believe that every little bit is important. Add them all up, and you’ll find that every gift makes a difference.”

Support our students and choose a fund for your gift. For additional information about giving to the Faculty and Staff Appeal, please contact Louis Noce.
