The annual period for New York State Health Insurance Program (NYSHIP) enrollees to make changes to their health insurance coverage without a qualifying event is November 1–30.
The following changes may be made in the month of November:
- Change your pretax status for insurance deductions.
- Change from family to individual coverage.
- Voluntarily cancel your health insurance coverage.
Note: unless you have a qualifying event, the 10-week waiting period still applies to enroll for health insurance for the first time, or to add previously eligible dependents to your coverage.
