She has experience in administration, planning and social policy, and directing second language acquisition programs and has served as classroom teacher, principal, consultant, and education reformist. Brown's focus is on the development of innovative curricula, school construction projects, and the establishment of partnerships with universities, businesses, and organizations. She is committed to achieving higher test scores and graduation rates for Buffalo students through strong curriculum, community and family support, and the belief that all children can succeed.
Her visit is made possible through a partnership between the Year of the City and the School of Education Dean's Office. Buffalo State is featuring monthly presentations centered on campus initiatives and partnerships in the city of Buffalo and urban issues that are relevant to the Buffalo community as part of the Year of the City.
