How does gender influence the world of video games and the experiences of gamers? Jennifer Jenson will address these questions in a campus presentation titled "Precarious Relations: Gender, Games, and Cultural Hegemony" on Monday, March 11, at 4:00 p.m. in Bulger Communication Center South. A reception will follow. Jenson is a professor of education at York University who has conducted extensive research on gender and gaming and coedited a book about digital gaming research called Worlds in Play.
The talk is free and open to all members of the campus community. Please encourage students to attend, especially since many of them are involved with gaming.
This event is presented by the women and gender studies program as part of its Women's History Month program, with support from Intellectual Foundations, the School of Natural and Social Sciences, and the Research Foundation.
