Why I Give: United Way Contributions Make a Difference

I truly appreciate the work the United Way does to provide assistance to various agencies in our community. I give to Autism Services Inc. (ASI) on behalf of my son, Kevin Jamaal Wood, who attends Autism Service’s Day Hab program, and I also serve on the board. I have personal knowledge of the hard work that ASI does and also know that the agency operates on a very tight budget, while the needs of the individuals who attend the program are great. My son has been attending the Day Hab program for the past 10 years, and frankly I don’t know of another program that would be able to address his needs. The program provides a wide range of opportunities for individuals to participate in their communities and to explore art and music, something my son truly enjoys. I am forever grateful that such an agency exists and will continue to support this program in any way I can.
