Buffalo State’s Archives and Special Collections Are Moving

During the current academic semester, Buffalo State’s Archives and Special Collections will be moving to more suitable environmental spaces within E. H. Butler Library. Our new facilities on the first and second floors of the library will allow us to provide greater access to our material and better preserve the unique archival and special collections, rare books, and other treasures in our collections. The new areas will host increased teaching, shelving, and storage spaces in more appropriate environmental conditions.

Many of our holdings are displaced at this time, and we are currently unable to accommodate walk-ins. To assist with our transition, we ask faculty, staff, and students to schedule an appointment with Archives and Special Collections to access material. We will need lead time of up to a week before meeting with students or classes that would like to use our collections for significant research. Additionally, we ask academic departments to hold off on sending large quantities of material to be archived this semester.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank the campus community for its patience as we await the opportunity to provide more efficient service in the near future.

To make an appointment to use the collections, please e-mail archivist Dan DiLandro.
