Thomas Reigstad served as a member of the New York State Education Department’s Rangefinding Committee for the Regents Exam in English Language Arts (ELA), which met in Albany August 6–10. Composed of English educators from across the state, the committee closely reviewed student responses and scoring materials (tasks and reading passages) from select field-tested ELA Regents Exams to be used in scoring guides. Reigstad was assigned to Part 2 of the exam, the argument-essay assignment.
