Thank you to all who have already registered to greet and assist graduates and their families on this most auspicious occasion. Additional volunteer ushers are needed and welcome to register. As a reminder, the 145th Commencement is Saturday, May 13, in the Sports Arena, with ceremonies at the following times:
- 9:00 a.m. Baccalaureate Ceremony: celebrating the School of Education, the School of the Professions, and University College
- 1:00 p.m. Baccalaureate Ceremony: celebrating the School of Arts and Humanities and the School of Natural and Social Sciences
- 5:00 p.m. Master's Hooding and C.A.S. Ceremony: celebrating the Graduate School
Beginning Tuesday, May 2, any additional volunteer usher registrations or amendments to existing registrations should be forwarded via e-mail to Marybeth Wojtaszek in the Events Management Office.
An informative and required rehearsal for volunteer ushers is scheduled for Thursday, May 11, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Sports Arena, where duties and specific roles will be discussed.
In addition, the Professional Development Office is offering a Campus Event Volunteer Training on Tuesday, May 2, during Bengal Pause in Butler Library 208. This training, while not required, is ideal for people who volunteer at large-scale events like Commencement and Convocation. Participants will learn the skills necessary to be effective college representatives and that are applicable to many aspects of campus work. Please register online through the Workshop Registration System.
Thank you for supporting Commencement and the Class of 2017.
