This workshop will provide a broad and general overview of hierarchical linear modeling (HLM) for faculty and staff members who have limited familiarity with the concept. The workshop will address the conceptual background, relevance, and uses of HLM as a statistical model for research across a variety of fields and disciplines, with a particular focus on educational research. Participants will be able to review and discuss how to interpret results reported in empirical studies that use HLM. A review of basic linear regression concepts will be included as a primer to understanding HLM. Presented by Gina Pannozzo and Reva Fish on Friday, February 3, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Professional Development Center (E. H. Butler Library 181B). A light lunch will be provided.
