Thanks to the fundraising efforts of the Friends of the Maud Gordon Holmes Arboretum, five new trees will be planted along Bengal Walk today to replace ash trees that succumbed to the emerald ash borer. The new treesa celestial dogwood, hackberry, Ohio buckeye, yellowwood, and Serbian sprucewere selected for their aesthetic value and to improve arboretum diversity. We are grateful for the efforts of the Friends of the Maud Gordon Holmes Arboretum and look forward to continued benefit from their successful initiatives.
