Zhang Jie, professor of sociology and director of the Center for China Studies, published his article "When Aspiration Fails: A Study of Its Effect on Mental Disorder and Suicide Risk," coauthored with Kong Yuanyuan, Gao Qi, and Li Ziyao, in the Journal of Affective Disorders 151 (1): 243–247.
Each of the coauthors, all Ph.D. students majoring in public health at Shandong University, recently served as visiting scholars at Buffalo State for one year. Kong was on campus in 2009–2010, Gao in 2010–2011, and Li in 2011–2012.
