Treating and Preventing Golf-Related Injuries

Intercollegiate Athletics invites the campus community to a presentation by Michael Cicchetti, M.D., of Buffalo Spine and Sports Medicine on the treatment and prevention of golf-related injuries on Wednesday, May 27, at noon in the Bengal Room of the Sports Arena. Lunch will be served.

The discussion, which is the first in a series of talks to be hosted by Athletics and offered by Buffalo Spine and Sports Medicine, will center on the most common golf-related injuries, why they occur, how they are diagnosed, and what treatments are available to get you back on the course pain-free.

Cicchetti received his medical certification from the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI), an organization that educates medical professionals about golf-specific injury assessment and rehab techniques. TPI has spent nearly two decades developing the "Body-Swing Connection," a core philosophy addressing injuries associated with the golf swing and how specific physical limitations can be addressed to improve performance.

Seating for this presentation is limited. Interested participants must RSVP by contacting Tom Koller, senior associate athletics director, 878-6514. Deadline to RSVP is Tuesday, May 26, at noon.
