Nepal Earthquake Fundraising Event: May 17

Members of the Nepali community in Buffalo, including Buffalo State’s Nepali Student Association, will hold a fundraising event, "Earthquake Relief Fund Nepal," on Sunday, May 17, in the Campbell Student Union Social Hall from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. This event will include a presentation on Nepal and Buffalo’s Bhutanese Nepali community along with traditional Nepali music, dance, and food. A prayer and candlelight vigil and moment of silence will be held to commemorate those whose lives were lost. The event is free (donations suggested) and open to the public.

The devastation resulting from the earthquake in Nepal on April 25 was exacerbated by a second quake on May 12. In this time of tragedy, the people of Nepal need the support of the world community. Earthquake Relief Fund Nepal will provide a time to come together and help the victims receive needed services as soon as possible. For additional information, please call Charles Kenyon, dean of students, at 878-4618.

Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. (The world is one family.)
