Germany for Educators: Participant Voices

The School of Education's first cohort has departed for southwest Germany to participate in the Germany for Educators program.

From July 4 through 21, three Buffalo State students and three Western New York teachers will observe and volunteer in schools around Stuttgart, live in the homes of the teachers whose classrooms they visit, attend seminars to learn about the German education system, and explore regional contemporary and historical sites in the region. The group will also spend a weekend in Berlin, touring museums and neighborhoods.

We welcome you to follow the cohort on their two-week journey. Visit the Germany for Educators blog page regularly for program recaps, reflections, and photographs from the participants and program coordinators.

During the spring of 2013 and 2014, Buffalo State welcomed teachers from Nürtingen, Germany, who visited and taught in local schools, lived with host families, attended campus classes, and toured the Buffalo area. This is the first time participants from Buffalo are traveling to Germany to be part of this unique opportunity, available to teacher education candidates and area educators from across disciplines and grade levels.
