Please encourage students to apply for one of the following VSLC awards for their volunteer and service-learning activities, or consider nominating a student yourself.
The Certificate of Recognition for Community Engagement is available for any student who has completed 120–400 hours of volunteer and service-learning work in the community during his or her college career. Credit and noncredit service hours can be combined to meet the requirements. Students can apply quickly and easily; information and applications are available on the VSLC website. Applications are due Friday, March 14. Students will be recognized at the VSLC Celebration of Service on Tuesday, May 6.
Outstanding student awards for service-learning and volunteer activities for the 2013–2014 academic year are also given at the VSLC Celebration of Service. Students can be nominated by a faculty member, fellow student, or community partner for activities during the fall 2013 or spring 2014 semester. Information and nomination forms are available on the VSLC website.
