Visual Arts Board Selections: Works from the Gerald Mead Collection

Organized by members of the Visual Arts Board (VAB), this exhibition consists of artworks in various media and stylistic approaches selected from the collection of Gerald Mead, an alumnus and lecturer in the Design Department. VAB members Megan Cavanaugh, Sean Leavell, and Shawn O’Rourke selected the artworks based on their personal response to the works and because each work represents the highest standards of technique, concept, and use of media. They also chose a range of artwork—paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, and graphic design—to reflect several disciplines taught in studio classes at the college.

Artists included in the exhibition are Lawrence Brose, Philip Burke, Kyle Butler, Max Collins, Frances Crohn, Mark Lavatelli, Anne Muntges, James Paulsen, Agnes Robertson, Paul Sharits, Kathy Sherin, Peter Stephens, and SUNY Buffalo State alumni Carla Castellani, Andrew Engl, Derek Gabryszak, and Patrick Holderfield.

The exhibition is on view in the Dr. Margaret Eschner Bacon Student Gallery in Upton Hall through February 14.
