Zhang Jie, professor, Sociology, and director, Center for China Studies, and his wife, Dr. Lu Xuehong, instructor of Chinese in the University at Buffalo’s Department of Linguistics, were invited by the State Council of the People’s Republic of China to attend the National Banquet and the October 1 parade in Beijing marking the 60th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China. Zhang and his wife took the pride in being Buffalo State and UB faculty members.
