Deborah Silverman, assistant professor, Communication, chaired the opening general session at the Public Relations Society of America’s Northeast District Conference in Rochester on October 8. The session, a crisis communication panel of journalists and PR practitioners, focused on communication following the crash of Continental Connection Flight 3407 in February. Panelists included Buffalo News reporter Brian Meyer, an adjunct professor in Buffalo State’s communication department. The conference attracted more than 250 PR practitioners, faculty, and students from upstate New York and New England.
