Lisa Berglund, associate professor, English, attended the East Central American Society for Eighteenth Century Studies conference in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, October 8-11, where she read her paper “Revisiting Europe from Weston-Super-Mare: Hester Lynch Piozzi’s 1819 Annotations to ‘Observations and Reflections Made during a Tour of France, Italy and Germany’”; chaired a panel on “Teaching Religion and the 18th Century”; evaluated 12 presentations as chair of the Molin Graduate Student Research Award committee; and appeared in a staged reading of Frances Burney’s The Witlings, playing Mrs. Voluble.
