Elisa Bergslien, assistant professor, Earth Sciences and Science Education, is the primary author of a paper published in the March issue of Forensic Science International 175 (2–3): 218–226. The paper, “Identification of Cremains Using X-ray Diffraction Spectroscopy and a Comparison to Trace Element Analysis,” was the product of a collaboration with Mary Bush, assistant professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry, and Peter Bush, director of the South Campus Instrument Center, at the University at Buffalo’s School of Dental Medicine. Forensic Science International is one of the leading forensic science journals.
