Because of the reference value of her achievements,Rafika Merini’s biography has been selected for inclusion in Who’s Who of American Women 2008–2009 edition, Who’s Who in America 2009 edition, and Who’s Who in the World 2009 edition; all were published in fall 2008. Returning students from the Buffalo State/Trois-Pistoles/University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario French Immersion Program in Trois-Pistoles, Quebec, which Merini founded in 1994 and directed in 1995, and for which she started a grant in 2005, are still expressing a high degree of satisfaction with the learning experience it offers. Several Buffalo State students have attended this summer program every year since its inception, and students from other institutions in the area have also participated through the Buffalo State International Education Office, which has been managing the program.
