An original screenplay by Jeffrey Hirschberg, assistant professor, Communication, and coordinator, television and film arts program, titled “Why Can’t They All Be Like Johnny Depp?" was one of two scripts selected by the Writers Guild of America’s (WGA) Screenplay Reading Series to be performed on Monday, June 7, in New York City. The first 20 pages of the screenplay will be performed by professional actors on stage. A Q&A with Hirschberg and the president of the WGA and reception will follow. This competition is a blind, peer-reviewed process open only to WGA members.
