The Buffalo State University community is saddened by the death of Deborah K. Renzi, who died November 12, 2023, following a brief illness. Mrs. Renzi joined the campus in 1982 as the director of admissions and records, serving until 1998, when she transitioned to the Social Work Department as an assistant professor and field education coordinator. Following her retirement in 2013, she continued to work part time as a senior career planning and development associate in the Career Development Center and as a staff assistant in the Civic and Community Engagement Office until 2021. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas C. Renzi, academic advisor in the Academic Skills Center (retired), who died in 2019; she is survived by her son, Matthew, and daughter-in-law, Amanda. A memorial visitation will be held Monday, November 20, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., followed by prayers and a Celebration of Life service, at the Wood Funeral Home, 784 Main Street, East Aurora.
