The NIA Mentor Program uses a concept derived from the African proverb “It takes a whole village to raise a child” to create a nurturing and supportive environment for students of color entering a predominantly white college campus. NIA is responsible for assisting hundreds of students through the transition to Buffalo State College from high school or their transfer school.
