Introduction to Service Learning and Community Engagement, an interactive session designed for faculty and staff members new to community-engaged learning and the practice of incorporating a community-based project into a course, will be held Tuesday, August 21, from 10:00 a.m. to noon in LoRusso Alumni Center 202.

Topics will include

• an overview of the theory and practice of service learning,
• strategies for identifying reciprocal and meaningful community partnerships, and
• a discussion of effective methods of incorporating student reflection to connect the service and course learning.

Adjunct faculty members may be eligible for a $100 stipend from the provost. Please register by e-mail.
