The Buffalo State University community is saddened by the death of James A. “Jim” Gold, professor emeritus of educational foundations, who died October 10, 2023. Dr. Gold joined the campus in 1977 as the vice president for student affairs, serving in the role until 1990, when he joined the Educational Foundations faculty (now Higher Education Administration). He retired from Buffalo State in 2000, continuing as a lecturer until 2022. He is survived by his wife, Molly; four children; two step-children; and nine grandchildren. His family will be present for a celebration of his life on Saturday, November 4, at 3:00 p.m. in the Buffalo State Campbell Student Union Social Hall. More information is available online.
