A webinar on Open SUNY Research and Innovation will be held on Tuesday, June 17, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The presentation will provide an overview of Open SUNY Research and Innovation, focused on synergy between the Center for Online Teaching Excellence (COTE), Innovative Instruction Technology Grants (IITG), and early examples of taking innovation to scale (Scale Up Lab) under the guidance of the Open SUNY Innovative Instruction Research Council (IIRC).

This presentation includes a detailed case study, "Big Data on a Small(er) Campus," and a demonstration, "Virtual Infrastructure for Data Intensive Analysis (VIDIA)." This IITG-funded collaboration between SUNY Oneonta, UB's Center for Computational Research (CCR), IBM, and others provides powerful evidence of how SUNY-wide collaborations can be scaled up in support of undergraduate education, experiential learning, and research of big data.

Learning Objectives

• To better understand Open SUNY and explore related websites (Open SUNY, COTE, and IITG) to further investigate research and innovation opportunities available to faculty and instructional support staff as part of the "Power of SUNY"
• To encourage interested faculty members to consider joining COTE fellows in support of online learning research and practice

Format

This live streaming webinar will feature central office and campus panelists, as well as videos. Interested campus faculty and staff members may attend in Bulger Communication Center 120 or watch from their home or office computer.
