Internal Search: Assistant Football Coach – Defensive Coordinator Coach

Internal applications are being accepted for the following position on campus. This is an internal job posting open to employees of SUNY Buffalo State who are currently paid from any state-appropriated-funds payroll.

Salary: $50,000

Brief Job Description
Responsible for assisting with the organization, development, and leadership of a varsity intercollegiate football program in support of the mission and core values of the Athletic Department and Buffalo State University. Duties include serving as the defensive coordinator, supporting all efforts of the head coach in recruiting and retaining top prospective student-athletes; establishing a competitive schedule; coordinating practice planning and skill development, and designing strategies that prepare team for competition; mentoring student-athletes; overseeing development initiatives; organizing football camps; collaborating with numerous athletic and university units; demonstrating adherence to university, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. The assistant coach also supports campus retention and student-support efforts by serving as a mentor for non-student-athletes as assigned and in collaboration with partners in Student Affairs and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Performs other duties as assigned by the director of athletics that are consistent with the skills and abilities related to this position and that address the university’s strategic goals.
