Information Security Awareness: 'Tis the Season

The Identity Theft Resource Center reminds us not to share too much information this holiday season. Their message notes that Black Friday, Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday, and the Global Day of Giving all present opportunities for innocents to be scammed:

"These scams might take the form of an email, a cold call over the phone, or they might even be present on your social media feeds. In many cases, the scammers use high-pressure tactics to persuade you to donate immediately and without really thinking it through. In addition to money, scammers might also take this opportunity to steal your personal information, which could put you at an increased risk of identity theft."

Be safe and stay vigilant.
