Hot Water Interruption to Most Campus Buildings Begins May 31

To facilitate ongoing rehabilitation of the underground utilities in and around the Rockwell Quadrangle, a planned steam and hot water interruption will take place beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 31. The procedure will interrupt hot water service to all buildings on campus except the Burchfield Penney Art Center, Rockwell Hall, and the Student Apartment Complex.

Program functions that specifically require hot water or steam are being individually contacted and accommodated. Heat should not be a concern because campus buildings do not usually require heat at this time of year.

Service will return to most buildings at approximately 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 2. However, steam service, and therefore hot water, will remain unavailable through summer 2013 in five buildings whose systems are under rehabilitation:

  • Bacon Hall
  • E. H. Butler Library
  • Donald Savage Building
  • Ketchum Hall
  • Moot Hall

Your patience and understanding are appreciated as the rehabilitation continues. Questions about this project can be e-mailed to vpfm@buffalostate.edu. Please refer to the campus construction website for information about current and upcoming capital projects.
