Hop on Board for BAM Week 2016 - Soul Train: Love, Peace, and Soul

The Buffalo State community is invited to support Black Active Minds (BAM) as they present Soul Train: BAM Week 2016. All events are open to the Buffalo State community.

Monday, February 1, 7:00 p.m.

A program discussing the lack of diversity among award shows and highlighting the award shows that celebrate black culture and talent.

Who They Attracting with That Line?
Tuesday, February 2, 7:00 p.m.
Bulger Communication Center West
A program discussing the evolution of music lyrics and the effects it has on society.

15 Seconds of Fame
Wednesday, February 3, 7:00 p.m.
Bacon Hall 215
A program discussing music programs like Soul Train and 106 & Park and their effect on music, as well as how social media and music has affected our attention spans.

Black Women behind Buffalo State
Thursday, February 4, 7:00 p.m.
Butler Library 210
A panel discussion with black women who have leading positions on campus and how it has affected their lives and career. Panelists include President Katherine Conway-Turner, Janelle Brooks, and Dr. Karen Jones.

Jeopardy: Black Sitcom Edition
Friday, February 5, 4:00 p.m.
Technology Building 160
Join BAM to play the trivia game "Jeopardy." The questions will revolve around black sitcoms from the '70s to the present day. A prize will be awarded to the winning team.

Silent Party with USG
Saturday, February 6, 9:00 p.m.
Campbell Student Union Social Hall
In collaboration with United Students Government and other organizations, BAM will host a silent party where students will listen to music through headphones. This is a free event for Buffalo State students with their student ID.
