Heirloom and Art Appraisal Event Set for April 22 at the Burchfield-Penney

Ever wonder what that old lamp in your attic is worth? Curious about the pedigree of the painting over your hearth? Discover the value of your household treasures by coming to a special event at the Burchfield-Penney Art Center. The museum, in association with Ritchies Auctioneers and Appraisers in Toronto, will be hosting an Heirloom and Art Appraisal Day on Saturday, April 22, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Burchfield-Penney. This event will allow visitors to seek the advice of international experts from Ritchies on a wide array of heirloom artworks, antiques, and decorative pieces. Appraisers will provide a verbal assessment of value for up to three items per reserved 15-minute appointment. Please note that the appraisers on hand that day will NOT be able to value jewelry, books, stamps and coins. Contemporary regional art is also strongly discouraged. The cost for appraisal is $10 per item or three for $25 for Burchfield-Penney members, and $15 per item or three for $40 for non-members. Reserved appointments are required and are going FAST! For information and reservations, call ext. 3547 or e-mail keyespt@buffalostate.edu.
